We have been experiencing periods of no rain and drought in the Hudson Valley. One renewable resource that we have to use to our benefit is rain water. With rain water collection we can store up water to use during the seasonal drought.
I’ve noticed the drought can come at any time. Three years back or so we got one in early Spring that stopped my neighbors dogwood tree from leafing out. Then last year we got a big one in the fall, and many people had problems with their wells running low.
It’s not uncommon to get a drought right in the middle of summer. This can be problematic for those with gardens. When this happens it is nice to have a stock pile of rain water on hand. Your well will thank you.
